During the months of April and May, dry season, fires are started in mae Hong Son to burn the dried vegetation. These fires create a smoke screen that often forbid the planes to land. We cannot therefore organize by plane the 1 and 2 days excursions as mentioned below during that period

EXCURSION TO MAE HONG SONG 1 DAY

Morning pick up in your hotel in Chiang Mai. Transfer to Airport. Flight to Mae Hong Song (30 minutes). Welcome on arrival (around noon) by the guide. Visit of the Longnecks village of Nai Soi. Back to Mae Hong Son, lunch and visit of the city. Tansfer to airport and flight back to Chiang Mai. Transfer back to hotel around 6 pm.

Day 1:
Morning pick up in your hotel in Chiang Mai. Transfer to Airport. Flight to Mae Hong Song (30 minutes). Welcome on arrival (around noon) by the guide. Visit of Nam Lod Cave and Fish Cave. Lunch. Night in Fern Resort.

Day 2:
Visit of the Longnecks village of Nai Soi. Back to Mae Hong Son, lunch and visit of the city. Transfer to airport and flight back to Chiang Mai. Transfer back to hotel around 6 pm.

DISCOVERY TOUR FROM CHIANG MAI TO MAE HONG SONG - 5 DAYS

Day 1: Chiangmai / Maejaem
Departure from the hotel at 8.30 am, with minibus, on the road Chiang Mai – Sunpatong (about 1 h). Bamboo rafting on the river. lunch. On to Doi Ithanon National Park and visit the Royal Project and cascade on the way. Dinner and night in Pongsara Resort or similar.

Day 2: Maejaem / Maehongsorn
After breakfast, drive to Mae Hong Son. On the way, visit of a Hmong village and of a Karen village. Lunch. Overnight in Fern Resort, Mae Hong Son.

Day 3: Maehongsorn / Pai
After breakfast, elephant riding and boat trip (longtail boat) on river Pai to visit the Padong village (Longnecks). Lunch. Visit of Maehongsorn and its Burmese style temples: Wath Phrathat Doi Kongmou and Wath Chongkham. Overnight in Fern Resort

Day 4: Maehongsorn / Pai
After breakfast, 08h30, on to Pai. On the way, visit of Thampla (Fish Cave), of a Mouseu village and of Thamlod (prehistoric cave ). Lunch. Before arriving in Pai, visit of a Lisou Village. Night in The Quarter.

Day 5: Pai / Chiangmai
Morning free. Lunch. Afternoon, drive back to Chiang Mai. Arrival end afternoon.
