LANGKAWI ISLANDS

Northwest of Malaysia, bordering the Thai border, lies a magical archipelago of 99 islands : the Langkawi Islands, a former haunt of pirates rocked by the myths and legends. Only four of the islands are inhabited. The Langkawi islands offer resplendent landscapes, wild and fantastical: high cliffs topped by pristine forests clinging to the limestone peaks, plunging into the sea, cutting coves, bays and inaccessible caves. Today, Langkawi, the main island, is a major tourist attraction, bringing together resorts and large investors. The island has not completely lost its authenticity, but it will be soon.
